• AEMT Student Minimum Competency Model Guideline Provides guidance for evaluating the minimum competencies of AEMTs to states, EMS agencies, and educational institutions. 
• Assessing Continuing Competence in Emergency Medical Services: A Resource for State EMS Offices (Apr 2015). Reports the findings of NASEMSO’s Competency Assessment Summit held in San Antonio, Texas.
• A National Strategy for EMS Specialty Certification (Feb 2015). This proposed Strategy describes:
  • a consensus-based means for determining and describing EMS specialties at a national level, and
  • a methodology that can be adopted by the states to assist in the state recognition of EMS licensees to demonstrate that they have the requisite education, experience, and competence to safely provide a specific patient care service.
• EMS Instructor Qualifications: A Template to Assist States with Implementing the EMS Education Agenda for the Future: A Systems Approach (Dec 2010). This template will help states in describing criteria, roles, education, and experience that may be required for various levels of EMS instructors.
• Leadership Training for Program Directors and Faculty (Aug 2024). Supporting strategies for effective leadership in training.
• Position Statement: Requirements for Published, Reviewed, and Researched Textbooks in Initial EMS Education Programs (Jan 2025). This position statement supports quality education and training in EMS by utilizing published, reviewed, and researched textbooks.
